Why do wives get visa soo soon than husbands? Ughhhh .. we wives in canada need our better half too .. the wait is killin me .. bcg hasnt started .. PAs eligibility hasnt even passed yet .. its ridiculous !!
I honestly think that statistically there are more female PAs, which is why we see a greater volume of wives getting PPRs. The sponsor in my case was my husband and there were a lot of male applicants who got their PPR before me. It took them 13 months to finalize my case. I think we just have to remember that as helpful as this data is, each case is different. We compare masses but LVO doesn't. They look at each case individually which is why timelines can be greatly different for what we think are similar applications. There are SO many variable factors (a lot of these way beyond our control) from one case to another which probably affect how long it takes to finalize applications.
Also (and I'm hoping this makes you feel better) I had not heard a peep from LVO (except for the usually responses re my status enquiry emails) since 27th October 2016 until 6th November, 2017 when my GCkey had an update where my BGC went in progress and by the Grace of God I got the PPR the following day. So hang in there, stay positive and don't let the numbers dampen your spirit x

We want to imagine that the government operates free from bias but that's obviously far from fact. I think men's BGC takes longer because of the racial profiling of Pakistani men. They are scrutinized more carefully.
Also its no secret that more Pakistani men than women have in the past exploited the immigration system by either overstaying the visitors visa, never going back to Pk, or marrying to enter into canada and later divorcing, and what not. Those people have made the process longer for us (genuinely married). Also one of the reasons we Pakistanis cant get a simple visitors visa if we have a close relatives in Canada...CIC doesn't trust that we will go back to Pak once we land on Canadian soil. What a reputation.
I got my PPR on Oct. 18, and submitted the passport on the 19th in Dubai. Its been 19 days now, and i havent heard about my passport yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes, and has more info on this?
