I making frantic effort to undergo the dna test. We have been researching to get a good deal. Some are on high side as far as $1600. The cheapest we could get was $775 after series of negotiations. This is the cheapest deal we can get so far. I am working on my canadian passport for renewal at AVO.

Thank you very much fr your answer. Yes I applied in January. They received our file 24th January. But we applied with new package. It is why I am so scared. But anyway as you said I is almost 1year. Soon or later I will figure out what is happening.

@AtGod Usually with the new application, they request for medicals after 5 months of receiving your application. But be rest assured that they will surely asked for it once they send you a mail for PPR, now and january is not too far.

I have already contacted them and they said I am on the queue. My husband sent again another message yesterday, we are waiting for their answer. Anyways it is almost 1year. We will wait and see how it goes. Thanks all of you for your answer. Good luck!

I am very upset right now however, AVO did not give back our birth certificates, marriage certificates or all of my husbands original school documents. Has this happened to other people? I know @colmiz is sharing in this disappointment. Can people weigh in?

@becos, I thought they usually send your original document with your passport cos I also send in my wife's original school certificate with the application. My wife didn't want to send the original but I told her they will return everything back after processing her application. So to all the members is there a way to go to the AVO for your original document after decision made on your application?
