Hello,
This is regarding PCC from FBI.
I stayed in usa twice. 1st - 3.5 months
2nd - 5.5 months
Total 9 months. So do I need a PCC Fromm FBI?
To be on a safer side , I did apply for that and my application was delivered to FBI on October 5th. I am doubtful on receiving the report before the deadline. What should I do?
If those 9 months that you stayed in the US occurred since you were 18-years old, then, YES, you need to submit a PCC from the FBI.

IRCC recognizes that some countries take longer than others to provide Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) and so, at their discretion, they may give you an extension on submitting the PCC. (Please note though, it’s at the reviewing Immigration Officer’s DISCRETION – they don’t have to do this).

The most common country for which this happens is the United States of America (FBI), which currently takes 3 months from delivery of an application, to provide the PCC.

What should you do? submit your eAPR, along with a Letter of Explanation (LOE) explaining that you have made your application but not yet received the PCC and are humbly asking for more time to submit it. Include, with the LOE, evidence that you have made your application, including a copy of the application, copies of the posting and delivery receipts, and any relevant payment receipts (receipt for getting fingerprints taken, copy of credit card statement if the FBI has already charged your credit card, etc.)

Anyone with NOC 1121? Can you please share the format of the job duties
Can you reword your question? I'm not sure I'm understanding...

I'm NOC 1121, but there's no 'format of job duties'.

You just need to provide a list of your job duties and responsibilities (no exhaustive document needed, just a list of 6 - 12 sentences summarizing the job functions) and they need to align closely with the job duties and responsibilities highlighted under NOC Code 1121...

Yes I'm talking about those 6-12 sentences. I need to get my reference letter with the job duties printed according to noc 1

yes I was above 18 years above both times. And I didn't really scan the application forms before sending them to FBI , but I do have a phone camera picture of that + courier reciept + fingerprinting payment receipt , will that serve the purpose?

1) Don't write your duties according to the NOC. Write your duties first, and then match them to the NOC. This makes it easier to ensure that your selected NOC Code is actually the right one. IRCC could call someone at your Company to verify your employment and job functions, and if the person they speak to explains your job duties as they actually are, and not as you wrote them to match the NOC, (and the NOC was incorrectly selected), it could create problems. Do it in the reverse order that you're planning to do it now - your job duties should dictate your NOC, not the other way around.

2) The phone camera picture, courier receipt, and fingerprinting payment receipt should be fine.

I still have to take the certificate from my employer. I think they will mention trainee. Okay and also will it make a difference if I was not paid?
You can not claim points for work you were not paid for.

I am creating an express entry profile, and have couple of questions related to ECA:
  • I have a Masters degree in Business Administration and Bachelors degrees in Electronics Engineering. Do I need to get ECA for both or just the highest degree?
  • Since I am applying as a couple, is it required to get an ECA done for my wife as well? Is the process different if you are getting ECA as a couple rather than as an individual applicant?
Hi,

1) You are awarded points for your highest qualification so it is ok to only get your Masters degree assessed. However, for future use, I would just get both assessed. If you are using WES it cost the same to get 1 or both assessed at once.
2) An ECA is not compulsory for the spouse, but it will give extra points.
There is no such thing as getting an ECA as a couple. Your credentials will be assessed individually.

All the best

Hi Shankar,

I think you can use the CIC assessment tool to help you out and see where you stand. Initially though, you would have to write your IELTS (General Module) and do the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) of your degrees. These would carry some points. So after that you will have a better idea. Please use this link, hope it helps!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Cheers!
Thanks a Lot.. I will check on this first.

Hi and welcome.

You do not need a consultant or lawyer. If you are dedicated and willing to put in time you can do it on your own. The majority of people here have or are doing it on their own. There is a lot of information available online but a good starting point is page 1 of this thread and
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiRxdPEutnWAhVFOpoKHZSFBesQFggwMAI&url=http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp&usg=AOvVaw0B8kQzrvJG47ofy-9r3qYL

The first major things you will need to do before you get started are the IELTS language tests and an educational credential assessment (ECA).

All the best
Thanks a ton..seriously. one question, ECA is done through WES website by registering online right? I have been working lately to gather my transcripts from universities. Any special tip you'd want to give me on IELTS preparation, pls suggest.

what does "secondary school diploma and diploma 2 years" means on ECA report ? It is only secondary diploma or more than that? Because i dont understand the phrase "and diploma 2 years" ? If it is more than that then can i qualify for option "two or more certificates, diploma or degree" option as i have a bachelor degree also ?

Hi,

WES is only one of the organisations you can use, not the only one. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=681&top=29
However, I highly recommend them. You indeed, register online then they give you instructions to follow.

For IELTS I would recommend you visit ieltsliz.com and engvid.com, these are IMO two of the best preparation site. Practice practice practice.

All the best

It means you sent 2 credentials for assessment:

1) secondary school diploma (you cant claim points for this)
2) diploma 2 years (you can claim point for this)

If you have a 3rd credential which has been assessed as a Bachelors degree you can indeed claim points for "two or more certificates..."
