I got an update on my CIC account that says:
Review of additional documents: We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.

but I did not receive anything
any idea what is that ? is this good or bad

Means someone has looked at your file and has updated some kind of remarks.
You should get a message about the additional document soon.
You may not receive anything as well as myCIC has many glitches and generates false status updates.

When did you eligibility pass? Usually security check started at the same time when the eligibility passed.

My eligibility was under "review required“ for about 3 months. After it was passed, the security check began.

Hi Guys,

my friend's aor is March 06, his background check was - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check from beginning of aor.
On oct 5th it changed to NOT APPLICABLE and yesterday again it changed to - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.
He received a call from immigration officer about employment verification on Oct 10th and he was asked about one of his job roles and responsibilities, hours, start date and end date of employment.
Now he is worried about his file, Any thoughts on what is going on here...?

Well, after eligibility passed, I am under security screening now, what a bad luck!

I would suggest you request GCMS notes and call them often. My eligibility passed the same day when my GCMS notes was generated. I think enquiry would trigger officer looking into your case.
