I can't imagine that could be expected for most people. Ours was almost older than that just because we requested it over a month before our FBI PCCs were to come back because we knew some people had issues getting employers to write them. Instead it took just a day (we asked for a new copy days before submitting our app because of a minor error though). It would be silly to expect it to be re-written just a few weeks later, and I saw no evidence on CIC's site that it had a tight window like that.

Yes I cross checked on the CIC checklist as well. It doesn't say anywhere about validity. I am submitting my payslips too anyway, so I think that should leave no doubt that I am still employed at the firm.
In your case you can simply apply for another one through any other agency and use the one which fits your requirement. In my case, I have a Diploma from BTEC level 3 for which I am applying for ECA through BCIT (ICES). In addition to this I already have an ECA for my bachelors degree from IQAS.
I have read some threads in different forums and they state that BTEC Level 3 is equivalent to post secondary diploma or 2 years diploma.

I read in some threads that the reference letter for current employer should be no more than 6 months old, and for previous employers, it does not matter when the letter was issued as long as it is after termination of employment. I haven't read anything official.
I declined my last ITA (deadline was September 27). Thankfully I got ITA this time. But funny thing is I am STILL not ready to apply. STILL waiting on the FBI PCC. Right now it will take 14 weeks for an FBI PCC it seems. So here's to hoping I dont have to decline AGAIN.
same here.. as you would know (replied on your post on 73rd draw)...fbi pcc is taken a lot of time, easily around 14-16 weeks.... i was just 5 days beyond 6 months .... Awe!!
Source of this info please
Logically it didn't seem right to me
Cause even if it's 6 months old you can still prove you are working in the same organisation by the payslips or salary credits
Every organisation has their own norms. so I think cic will consider older ref too if it covers the number of years of experience we are claiming for coz currently working is not a pre requisite ...experience of minimum one year or what we claim is important
I'm not sure please correct me if I'm wrong
