its easy .find your local Member of Parliament. go to his office. actually receptionist will help you to sent a email to Colombo office. you need your full name your spouses full name, File number or UCI number and.date of birth

Just wanted to clarify that an MP will be able to provide you with some basic information on the status or your application but can not speed up processing time or change chances of approval. Really best used if there is a problem or have exceeded the given timeframe in my opinion.

@hopefulcanuck1 i've seen you applied on May 2016. almost 1 and 1/2 years, why that much long time.Did you ever contact with the embassy? i was wondering about how long is a typical timeline

If apply 20 month timeline to @hopefulcanuck1 still have 2 months for 20 month however according to cic news they are working on recived before dec 2016 files . And they are trying to finish this files end of this December

Yes unfortunately you guys involved in old process . After dec 6th 2016 applicant only intake to new process . However you guys hear something good news in before December. I am waiting for my dream day finger cross I checked every time my email and gc key. Wife in so depressed and me too.

Yes we all are in the same boat. This waiting is killing us.

Hi, yes we did contact the HC and they just said it is within the normal processing time. Like @yoge said, current processing time is 20 months, and my application falls under the older system... but hopefully the long wait is almost over.

Seems like the applications are moving faster for people who applied under the revised system after Dec 2016.

CIC requested for remedical and police clearance since mine got expired already . Does anyone know how many days will it take for passport request after submitting the above documents...

Thanks a lot ,feeling relax atleast to hear that .still kind of tensed till they request for passport.

Visa office:Colombo
Application submission:June 10,2016
Processing started :Aug 15,2016
1st medical done
Correspondent sentct 18,2016
Remedical n clearance request:sep 25,2017
