Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

Hi All,

Can someone please help what type of document do we have to submit for Tax receipts(3 years) to apply for citizenship?

I read this document but I am still not clear http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp#CIT0002E2. Please confirm!

I have been commuting to work in the US daily for the past 1 year and it is counted as 0 day absence on Physical presence calculator for each same day return and also for each "next day" return to Canada. Now my question is, will I be required to get the Police Certificates from US while applying for Citizenship? Can someone please let me know.

Each day you are partially in the US counts as 1 day in the US for Police Certificates.

So you will need to get one. (Assuming 5 days a week * 45 weeks = 225 days.)

What is the immigration document in question?
Confirmation of Permanent Residence? PR card? The last passport?
Because my first name of the CPR is "Marcel David Alan"
My first name on my PR card is "Marcel David A"
My first name on my last Belgian passport is just "Marcel David A."

I'm thinking of writing as on my passport, so "Marcel David A.".
Will it matter?

*Those names are fictional and not my real name

From the guide,

Write your last name (surname/family name) and given name(s) exactly as they appear on your immigration document. If your name was shortened (truncated) on the immigration document, it will appear in full length on your citizenship certificate, up to 50 characters for the family name(s) and 50 characters for the given name(s). Immigration documents include your:

• Record of landing (IMM 1000),
• Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688),
• Permanent resident card (PR card).

Why does your PR card have a different name from COPR ? That's weird, unless you underwent a name change after landing.

I did not undergo any name change! It's my THIRD first name. They shorten it in some documents it seems.
My first name of the COPR is "Marcel David Alan"
My first name on my PR card is "Marcel David A"
My first name on my last Belgian passport is just "Marcel David A."

Your Belgium Passport is not an immigration document. It's supposed to be either confirmation or pr card. I'd put the full legal name.

Immigration document simply means any document issued by IRCC.

Sometimes IRCC shorten the long names on PR card; “There is limited space for your name on a PR card. If we shorten your name, it is not a mistake”

In section 6J in form CIT0002 :
1. What is "the most recent 9-digit number you used to file your income taxes" ? Is it same as my SIN?
2. what does "required to file" mean? I filed all my taxes but I am not sure if I was required to file or not. How can I find it out?

I got my entry exit records from CBSA. I noticed that it only has my exit records when I went to US by land. My air travel exit records are not there.

Is this normal?

I have my CBSA records too. To the best of my knowledge I dont think they have EXIT records at all.

They just log when you come back into Canada.

The I-94 have both exit and entry.

Btw is your SIN number considered as a valid ID? I'd imagine so but just double checking.
