What does your elivibility and background status say in your GC key?
Well it has said "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." and "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." since day 1. So either it is all just words and no action, or then poisonapple's suspicion is right that GCMS notes are not correctly updated. Or maybe it is GCKey that is not correctly updated. I don't know anymore.

My bet is that the GC key does not really reflect the right info.

Yeap mine GC key is also reflecting exactly same status from very first day ..so there is some thing definitely in between ..

But in this case CGKey is reflecting correct status as confirmed by GCMS notes...

His GC key says eligibility in process but notes says not started. Very confusing. GC key can reflect the right info but not sure its as accurate as the notes

yeah agree In process is very "generic"and equivocal term , even when some at CIO sydney has opened and assigned it to Ottawa office it seems it's marked as in process in GCkey ..

It is in QC-Inventory, which sounds like it's archived and collecting dust... And definitely no recommended pass anywhere.
What does the last note (at the end) say? But I would say that yes, if it is in QC-inventory means it is in the back-log, which is surprising since yours is only 19 days behind APPNOV2014

CIC would annouce its 2018 immigration target on Nov 1 . Read an article on that and there are rumours saying that CIC is considering accepting 450 000 new immigrants. Thats 150k more than the present target. If its turns out to be 450k.. then am seeing processing time dropping very low and cic hiring more officers as they have to double their current man power to archeive their target . Nov is not far. Lets wait and see.

CIC has all what they need to make a decision on his application. His application can move to QC pending at anytime and it needs just a couple to minutes or hours for and officer to work on it and make a decision. Meaning the file can move to QC pending tomorrow and picked up and reviewed by an officer tomirrow and a decision made tomorrow

All that holds true for express entry not for QSWP...:(

All that holds true for express entry not for QSWP...:([/QUOTE

Did you know that in 2015 processing time for QSW was 6 months same as EE? I know many QSW applicants who got DM in less than 6 months. As from early 2016 the processing time changes to 12 months then 13 months. This was because many people applied umder QSW more than their target . So cic had to hold the remaining applications and process the following year hence thats when the backlog started up till now.
For EE their target is very high but fewer people or just the equivalent amount of people apply and are eligible. Thats why cic is able to maintain the initial 6 months for EE and not that for QSW.
So if CIC increases the target for QSW. Trust me the processing time will drop.
