i have just received an e-mail stating that your file has been transferred to London for further process. How long will it take and what will happen now? please guide me
That's good. Now LVO will conduct eligibility review ( assess relationship) and then conduct background checks. However none of this starts immediately and hopefully should be done in the next 3 to 4 months (this is an estimate).

Would you like to be added to the 2017 spreadsheet (see link in my signature)?

The s15(1) in the right corner on one of the last few pages means security is done as per the GCMS thread by a very senior member.
I think s16 has to do with partner countries. Did you see info sharing on any of the pages? Has your spouse ever been to the US or UK?

If they haven't started eligibility why did they ask you for additional docs? Why is this process such a huge mystery???
Yeah, I do have s15 on two of the pages towards the end, but it says Not Started for Security, so I'm not sure what to make of that lol.

Yes, on page 12 it has a section that says Info Sharing 1:
Type: Biographic
Partner: USA
Status: NRT

My hubby's never been to the US or UK but I guess this is just a standard check. NRT means No Reportable Trace, which I assume means the applicant has no history in that country's system.

I got my doc request after the generation date of the notes, so perhaps now the eligibility would be started?

Overall, I wouldn't trust the accuracy or interpretations of GCMS notes too heavily. I take them with a grain of salt. I think they're most helpful in determining whether or not you need to send additional info to escape an interview queue and remove a VO's doubts.

We have secondary review and a group # on our first 20 lines. Not sure what either of those mean. Hopefully not an interview.

Seeing not started instead of review required on eligibility is a good thing. Means cpc didn't find the need to alert LVO.
Interesting... just realized that the notes I got back also have s.15(1) on the 2nd and 3rd page. Took a look at it again and I see a section "Info Sharing", seems like CIC checked with USA (partner field) and status is NRT (No reportable trace). The notes were generated on August 22nd. This seems to be the reason it shows that BGC has started. But eligibility and criminality are still "not started".

Don't worry guys, I don't remember seeing "In Process" in my notes ever. Even though eligibility review was being conducted during that time. Look for "updated date". This is the date where the last worked upon your case before the notes were generated. In my case when eligibility review was done and passed, the same day criminality was passed too, as all they check is pcc in this section.

You only want to look out for updated date, group name and most importantly visa officer comments, if any.

I ordered GCM note in which it states interview paper islamabad. So it's mean they are going to conduct interview. But didn't mention any date in GCM notes.
Interview Date will be communicated to the applicant 1 month in advance of interview via email.

oh.. ok.. So they do it quarterly .. They email you one month before interview date. I hope all goes well. Would it be okay if you share if your case had any complications?

So my hubby's dad applied for a provincial program a few years ago and he got refused. My hubby was a dependent in that application, not the principal applicant, so we thought the refusal didn't count towards him personally. But in our recent doc request, we were asked why that refusal wasn't declared, so we explained it just like I did here, in about the same amount of words.

Do you guys think they'll accept our explanation?

In a few months time (no one knows how many) your file will be reviewed for eligibility. Basically all forms and supplementary information about relationship will be assessed to see if the relationship is genuine. Then one eligibility is passed background checks will start. Again no one can say how long that will take though in most cases they are fairly fast.

Hope that helps.

I agree and yes I would assume eligibility has started hence the add doc request. I also read that security will always show as not started in GCMS notes until a decision is made. I could be wrong, so don't quote me on this :)

What I think is happening now that wasn't probably the case before, is CPC is conducting security before sending off to LVO. LVO being the expert in criminality, assesses that after eligibility, to conclude BGC.

My husband got an email from LVO yesterday in response to his status update email, that his file awaits an initial review at the London office. Same response (though slightly modified) from Sep 14 when they told us exactly that and that at the moment they do not need any additional documents from us.

It's been 17 weeks since they started processing our file at LVO. Not a lot of time I get it, but to not even have conducted an initial review, just bums me out.

Don't be too bummed, Bee. It's so frustrating to be far from your spouse, but what's even more frustrating is an interview request, a PFL or any of the other nasty gambits you could get hit with. Just pray that whenever they do touch your file, everything goes smoothly. A few years from now, this wait will be behind you and you'll be enjoying the company of your hubby right here in Canada, inshaAllah.:D

Thank you, that message was very uplifting :)

The fear is to be stuck in an interview queue, not because we have anything to hide, but because of the wait. I cannot up and leave to be with him because of school and I no longer hold my Pakistani status so there is a limit to how long I can stay in the country. oh well we knew all this going in lol and yet we went ahead with it. Just need to focus on those reasons and remember that "this too shall pass"! hopefully soon for all of us.
