Hi Guys....I am new to this forum
I received my ppr in April 2017…I wanted to sponsor my parents and bring them to Canada(they have a Canadian travel visa)…I was checking the eligibility for the PGP sponsorship program and believe that there is a min income requirement…..My current salary is below the requirement…hence I wanted advise from you guys as what are the other options available...I am a single guy so cant use spouse as a co-sponsor
Thanks
Other options are tourist visa (they can stay for up to six months) and super visa (up to 2 years), but you'll need to buy private health insurance for them.

Speaking of sponsorship; you need to maintain the minimum income over 3 years (1 year for QC). Other option is super visa that's for 10 years with 2 year stay at a time but you need to purchase health insurance for them.
I don't think they only accepted 1000, waited 90 days, extended a bit the 90 days submission period and after 2 months decided to do another lottery from the same 1000?If they disqualify 89k and let only 1000 how can you extract again?

Around 90-100k people submitted the web form. Invitations were sent out to 10k but a lot less applications were received. Although we don't know the exact numbers but if I recall correctly, back in July the immigration minister mentioned 1200 or so sent in applications by then. Even if 2k people submitted the applications by the deadline they still have a lot of room to invite more. Seems the 10k that were already invited wouldn't get a second chance this year so the new invitations will be sent out from the rest of the eligible pool from the original 90-100k.

I just got selected in the second lottery today. The second lottery list has 6500 applications selected. which means only about 3500 applications were complete during the first round.

Congratulations and best of lucks!
Starting the second round, I guess they should already know how many of the sent applications were eligible to apply, but many of us(from the first round) haven't received sponsorship approval yet.

how do they assume all 6500 will send their applications? Based on their first experience that only 30% applications were received from 10K, they should have draw more. I think 10,000 increase was a joke and we will end up with the same 5000 or less eventually this year
