No. The file is for PR, only PR applicant can link his/her file. Even in the selection box, there isn't a sponsorship option, only PR. You are not applying for PR, thus you can't link a PR file which is not even yours.

I'm sorry if I appeared stupid, but actually, no, I didn't know there was such a huge backlog so this wasn't a very helpful answer, I was only asking because I thought the new 2017 process was supposed to be more efficient.

I uploaded my documents but also mailed a hard copy of them too. I'm glad I did because I only got confirmation that the uploads would be forwarded to the necessary dept two weeks after I got my acceptance letter. From my experience it doesn't seem that the upload is as efficient as you would like to think.

Today August 22 my e-cas showing decision made no e-mail received yet.

I never got an email, I got a letter through the post about 3 weeks after I saw online as DM telling me I was approved as sponsor and that the application for permanent residence was now sent to Ottawa, the office for mum's country of residence.

No, I didn't get any confirmation that they received my additional info (my father's death certificate) but I did put tracking on the package so I know it was received.

Did you use your email address/contact details on your parents application? If so, it means you are their representative.
