Urgent question about UK transit visa for Canadian immigrants

Hello guys,

I am not sure where to ask this, but I guess here will do.

I'm landing in Toronto and my tickets have London transit for about 5 hours, my flight (British airways) from Cairo should land in Heathrow terminal 5 then also through terminal 5 another flight to Toronto

My question is will I need a UK transit visa? will I pass by border control and security? for me -Egyptian- I would usually require a UK visa but if I'm not leaving the airport or changing terminals do I need one?

Please help asap.

You dont. I traveled previously on BA to toronto through heathrow, changed terminals no issues. We just went through security thats all, no border control as you are not leaving the airport or going on an internal flight. The only thing is if you are a smoker you should know that Heathrow has a no smoking policy not even dedicated smoking areas, no smoking at all lol. But i guess thats a small temporary price to pay to reach canada.
