Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I am just confused if the last "Final decision" line is the same as everybody else whose Background is in process. Please guide members and share if somebody else has the same.

Don't worry you still have time left until October 2017, after that you should pressurize CIC by approaching your MP and Calling CIC. You haven't crossed the given processing time of 12 months yet so you would have to wait. I would also suggest not compare your case with other cases, every case is different.

My experience: Final decision changes to "your application is approved" once passport is stamped with visa.

Yes eligibility, background check and final decision was in progress even after I submitted my passport. Everything changed the day my passport left the embassy.
