I did as well.
A lot of us at the beginning of the year did since we already had it ready from the past application kit. Our lawyer told us it was fine and if they wanted new ones, we could just get new ones.

Mostly likely not. A lot of people on here and the facebook group gave me flack for doing it as well.
Our immigration lawyer who reviewed our app though said it was fine and they did accept it. so Him>them. I wouldn't do it now though.
I heard there was a period of time when they were accepting things like that. I also triple checked with people on the CIC hotline and they said it was fine, but to follow the guidelines moving forward.
You can.. last year around this time I made an appointment with an immigration doctor. Just told him I'd be applying for PR come December and he took me on. He even sent copies before hand and put me in the database.
I've passed Medicals so far.
I had to get a chest x ray. Make sure I didn't harbor anything.
Blood drawn to test for diseases.
And a basic checkup at the doctor and goingnover mine/ my families medical history.
Anyone from outland US group that applied for PR in February 2017 that has landed? It seems like a couple people from other countries have received DM and landed but US application are a bit slower???
My timeline:
- Application received in Mississauga - Feb 23.
- SA - March 8, 2017.
- AOR1 -March 10, 2017.
-Schedule A and Pcc Requested March 13 but we have issues with our CIC account so they were eventually mailed in the first week of april.
- application sent to visa office Apr 19, 2017, we were notified via an email.
- On ECAS - We started processing your application on May 2, 2017.
- Medical requested May 24 and completed e-medical May 25.
Background check still hasn't started as per the CIC account. I called and spoke to an IRCC agent who stated that we hadn't completed the eligibility criteria. We have emailed Ottawa VO to get an update as we haven't heard anything after the medical (passed).
The PR is taking longer than I anticipated. I realize that outland applications can take 12 months to process, but I thought the trend was that US applications were processed faster usually within 4-6 months. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hey, looks like we're in the same boat.
I'm US common law.
-Received: Feb.23.
-SA: March.2.
-Medicals passed: March.3.
-Eligibility in progress: Early march (doesn't show in ECAS, but MyCIC say's they are reviewing eligibility.)
***I sent everything upfront since we were planning for the old application. Medicals. PCC, Schedule A.
never got a request for any of it and the woman told me my Schedule A was attached to my Feb.22. Day before AOR1.
Are you in the 'Stuck in Mississauga' thread?
cause it seems like you're in a similar situation.
Is it just US applicants who are being held back??

Although our application seems "stuck," we did get a confirmation email from IRCC stating that our application was transferred to the Ottawa VO but this happened April 19. But I will look at this group, 'Stuck in Mississauga'. The IRCC agent that we call, just spits out the same information we see in the CIC account so thats essentially useless. I have no idea of whats happening to our application in Ottawa.

We also got an email (with SA) indicating that our application was being transferred to Ottawa in March. However, when I emailed Ottawa in late April, they said it was still in Mississauga. In June I called the hotline and they said they had everything, but gave no indication of why it was not moving ahead - basically the same as we could see on MyCIC. We're going to call again sometime soon when I have time in the early morning.

I called at the beginning of the month and the sngent seemed concerned. She said to call again at the end of the month if we still weren't transferred.

It looks like Ottawa isn't as fast as it used to be. This slowdown trend started around March. I guess Ottawa is getting backlogged. While other VO's will most likely never get backlogged because they just don't receive as many applications. In the other hand, there are other VO's that have been consistently slower than Ottawa
