Hi everyone!
This is my first time i blog here, I need some information related to visit visa and sponsorship. I am married to Canadian lady who is a landed immigrant since June 2003 and Canadian Citizen from January 2007 . We got married in July 2015 and happily married since then. My wife had business in Canada due that she has to visit Canada off and on. Last year in Nov 2016, I applied for visit visa which was rejected. Now she wants to sponsor me on spousal visa. She consulted few lawyers in Canada who raised some issues. I want to clarify following quires if u can help.

1. We got married in July 2015 and My divorce with my X-wife was finalize in Jan 2016 but court decree for divorce was ordered in April 2015, does that make any chance of rejection sponsorship. As per Canadian law one cannot have two marriages at same time, but in Pakistani Law it is allowed.

2. Even in my case, court decree was issued in April 2015 for divorce but certificate of divorce was issued in Jan 2016. My divorce will be consider dissolved from which date

3. Should i Apply for Spousal visa any advise.

Why she is consulting lawyers?
She should apply right away and see what comes ahead.

she was worried that it will be rejected due to as my divoce certificate was issued in jan 2016 and we got married in july 2015

reasons are
1. traveling history
2. Family tie in Canada and in resident country
3. length of proposed stay in Canada
4. purpose of visit

they think i will not leave Canada where as i am a gov servant

I was in the same boat as yours. I got divorced in 2015 but i got my divorce certificate from union council in 2016 AFTER MY WEDDING and before applying my seconds wife PR application. They put divorce effective date as 2015 and certificate issued in 2016. If your certificate shows divorce effective date as 2015 then you don't have a problem even if it is issued/printed on later date. Just simply file the PR. Keep in mind Its your right to get PR if you are married to a Canadian.

I sent some additional photos and other docs voluntarily last week. I am giving them another week to open those docs and attached them to my file, and then i will apply for notes.

I asked my MP last month to get some update. Up until last month, no background check or investigation was initiated.

As per previous comments from other member on this thread who involved their MPs to get the status update, after reading their comments they all got some generic and bull**** reasons from Visa officers. I think its good to involve MP after the processing time period 12 months have been passed.

@ahsenshah COPR date was 9th June.

Any idea what is the amount that we need to fill out in the declaration card when landing the first time? Is it the value of all the goods with you since it is the first time landing? I know we won't be charged duty on the goods but good to declare everything?

I sent a request for gcms notes on may 12 and i received the answer on july 12 lvo haven't start working on my file yet.
