Hoping that C-6 will pass the 3rd reading soon as well as get the Royal Assent by April (Optimistically) or May (maximum), I would like to start this topic in order to inform the members about the in effect dates of C-6 clauses after being a law.
Repeal of revocation provision (Royal Assent)
Repeal of intention to reside provision (Royal Assent)
Physical presence in Canada, Physical presence for 3 out of 5 years (Date to be affirmed by Governor General)
Time spent in Canada as a non-permanent resident (Date to be affirmed by Governor General)
Repeal the minimum 183 days physical presence in 4 of the last 6 years (Date to be affirmed by Governor General)
Applicants aged 18-54 must meet language requirements and pass knowledge test (Date to be affirmed by Governor General)
Canadian income taxes for 3 out of the last 5 years (Date to be affirmed by Governor General)

Dear learned members of this forum I need an advice from you that I will be completing 4 years on 30th June 2017 but I would like to go to my home country for a short visit for a month. So is it better to file the citizenship application on 2 or 3rd July 2017 under 4/6 rule and then go for the visit or after coming from my visit I have to make the application.

Since the new CIC likes to try new things with their procedures, for example
- The Express Entry pool (not sure how well it's been going since I didn't follow this)
- The parents/grandparents sponsorship lottery (which has been a disaster from what I have heard)
Let's see how they are going to handle this sudden increase of applications once C-6 is implemented. I won't be surprised if they have
- a lottery for citizenship - if you qualify and win the lottery, then you can apply, or
- an Express Entry for citizenship - if you qualify you can enter the pool and they will give you a score and send you invitation based on your score...
Let's see if any guesses actually turn out to be true
