This is a democracy and not a dictatorship. The people opposing this bill deserve that they are getting explained by the majority why that majority supports it. That is the whole point of parliament.

I understand your point... As proponent of democracy, concurring the decisions made by the elected body, that is the House of Commons, make most sense, specially at this stage when this bill took its time in Senate! (Again just my personal opinion

I don't really find it that surprising. They are, after all, the ones who have experienced first hand to be judged by their language skills in a second language.

Btw - if I am reading the text of the bill correctly - after royal ascnet the intend to reside clause goes out of the window right away right?
