Pretty easy, ya? For us, the SIN was the pain. They have to mail it to us (maybe Kitchener isn't that fast at reporting landings?). Service Canada told us they had to sent a paper copy of the application for new SIN in, so they will mail a SIN to us... *shrug* oh well..

Congrats to your wife... it's time to celebrate in the big smoke (Montreal)!

We just had to show the passport (CIC stamped the landing date with the CoPR number) and the COPR and we got the new SIN right away.
Montreal... I like to call it Montre-hell... we profited the occasion to buy some middle-east product, and on the way back we visited my dad who lives in between Montreal and Quebec. We had a nice celebration dinner and now we're back home!

Yay!!! That was fast. Was Mrs. S happy/nervous/calm?

We were both very happy, not stressed, but quite excited. We're used to wake-up early, but we were awake at 5:00, the appointment was only at 10:00!
We arrived at the building at 9h35-40, they let us in. Then we had some waiting before talking to someone at the reception desk. On our letter, the appointment was at 10:00, but on their list we were at 10:20. They told us, you're early and they will likely call you only at 10:20, do you prefer to go out for a coffee and come back later? We told her, aaaaah no, we will wait here. We sat and they called us 1-2 minutes before 10:00. I think at 10:05 we were out with the COPR.

Yes it's normal. Some don't get it for a week and even others who get dm email and landing email within 24 hours of each other so not to worry. keep checking spam/junk also

I wouldn't call it normal. But normal is not a word that can be used to describe current circumstances. This isn't normal operations.

That's late but when you got landing you know the dm is postive

Does the letter from our friends which can be submitted as proof of cohabitation and relationship has to contain the their personal details as in address/phone no. as well or just their name and signature is enough?
