Please confirm the sponsorship approval date. It is the date when you (the sponsor) received email/letter from CIC that you have been approved as a sponsor and that the applicant's file has now been transferred to London Visa Office.

The content of the inquiry should be unique and depends on what you want to ask the London Visa office.
Also you can involve your local Member of Parliament to inquire from LVO on your behalf.
