Hey Q, it's been over a year since my AOR. I applied from Kuwait so I'm thinking my VO is AD as well. BG check in progress for over 7 months. I had no idea my BG is so check worthy..lol . I joke around but I'm dying inside . CSE just gave me a "processing times vary" reply (which s at the 8th month mark) . Thinking about calling 001-613-944-4000. How long did it take you ? Please tell me if it was longer than a year or not, I need to know I'm not the only one. I know perfectlyskilledimmigrant is a similar case but I need to know that there is hope.

This is an awfuly long wait. Did you send them a query to ask where your visa office was ?
You should definately try calling them.

Thanks. Yes I requested another CSE on the 9th so I'm still waiting for their reply. If I don't receive a reply by the 19th I'll give them a call.

My background check took around 14 months, my AOR was October 11, 2015 & I got PPR on April 20, 2017.
You're not the only one, there are many more applicants going through the prolonged background checks [comprehensive screening]. You can find similar timelines in the thread for applicants who are waiting for more than 6 months, there's one for those who have crossed 15 months, as well.

Just hang in there and keep yourself busy.

Hopefully IRCC will come up with something better, soon, to cut down these security check/screening delays.

I have submitted my passport at embassy of canada, abu dhabi on 01/05/2017. No news since then, What is the average processing time for PR visa stamping. Some have received back in two weeks and some in three weeks.

I would suggest you to drop an email to Ottawa office to check about your visa office. CSEs usually takes longer time.

Hey, sorry for the delayed update. I just got back from my trip.

Yes, I was lucky enough to get the passport back on the May 3rd, just one day before my flight on May 4th. So it took me 17 calendar days in total as I submitted it on April 16th via FedEx.

I got an email yesterday after I emailed CPC ottawa saying that the app is being processed now outside canada but they didn't specify which visa office. I suspect it's AbuDhabi which is my country of residence. ( App was transferred in the past 2 weeks because I called 3 weeks ago and it was still in Ottawa). Does this mean that my app is in the final stage ? Is there any way to contact ADVO ?

Urgent Help!

I am a newbie in this forum.

It is going to be four weeks now. I have submitted my passport for PR visa stamping on 01/05/17. No updates since then. I have submitted thru VFS, Oman and it is still showing as in process at Canadian Embassy, Abu dhabi.

I am really worried. Is it normal that they take so much time to process? Any expert pls advise.
