Londo, trust me when i say this that your comments have not hurt anyone here. However those preceding and following it (including my own), are a source of controversy here. But again i totally agree with you that this discussion will never do anyone any good. Its better we focus on the topic of this thread and help one another rather then get into a stinky mood.

Hey, my interview is on Monday inshallah. I had asked them if I could bring my kid and even though, our names were not on the letter we were still going to Pakistan to be with my husband for moral support. They sent me a revised letter with my name and my kid's name on it so that we can go to the embassy as well. Not guaranteed an interview.
Please pray for me guys. We've waited long enough!

I couldn't have put it better myself, life is difficult everywhere. Please don't think am being insensitive of your situation, just trying to encourage folks. Am sure I will feel same as you if I was apart from my hubby for as extended a period as you have. God help us all.
Yes enjoy the heat with HOURS of power outages in 38-40 degrees Celcius...errr.. sorry no fun here... mangoes...ummm not fond of them either...Im sure IA il b able to have some Indian or pakistani ones there too.
While u may be right about enjoying Pakistan, there are some people who have had enough of enjoyment without their spouses. Ramadan is around the corner, for me personally it was supposed to be a time where i spiritually bond with my partner and family. Eid is another major festival which every couple enjoys together but im not so sure whether il even be there to attend any potluck dinners or lunches with my partner and in laws. So yes, it is indeed a perspective which differs from person to person. Not everyone is as happy about waiting for several months or maybe even a year without their partners and trying to look up at things in this sweltering heat. Oh even more importantly, not to mention the stress families and particularly parents have when they see their daughters/sons living apart from their spouses.
Having said all that, i totally agree with you when u say that time passes slower when we wait. I wish i was a more positive person On days when im not, i look up to this forum for venting.. After all this place is not only about the spreadsheet but also about moral support

Lol.. AmyR, relax no one is forgetting their spouse and we all are living in this heat waves. The only thing we all can do is make the best of time wherever we are.

@ those who are either bringing Pakistan down or not, we all know that we are Pakistan and even we go to Canada we will always be Pakistani and no one knows where we will end up...
anyways the post is supposed to remind to start living and stop passing life.
p.s. I'm an MBA too with a Gold medal from one of the largest University in Pakistan, and face the same employment issues, and even after employment face all type of people in professional world be it local or multinational concern...
Alhamdolillah, passport is on the way with visa and COPR ( I sent via DHL and i can track it). Mycic account is also showing that application has been approved and Counterfoil has been issued.
Side note: My background check was completed in 8 days even though i have extensive travel history so please have faith in Allah, Inshallah you will hear good news very soon.
