Dear All,
Need your opinion regarding my WES application. I am from India and have done a 2 year full time post graduate programme (certificate course) in Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure Management (PGP-REUIM), from National Institute of Construction Management & Research (NICMAR). The college I did my PGP is not approved by AICTE but was approved by university grant commission (UGC India).
So should I put my NICMAR education as University education or professional education ? ???
As mentioned on WES web site professional education is the one that is from Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of Cost and Work Accountants, Institution of Engineers, Institute of Company Secretaries institutes only and the people pass under this category must have a certificate of membership which I don't have as my education doesn't need a certificate of membership from any organization/institute.
My college (NICMAR) doesn't come under any University in India, as it is an autonomous college. ???
What should I do please suggest.

Hi Indianjack...Need to know that how can one achieve this scoreof around 450..in our case I am the primary appl n my spouse is the secd one..I hav calculated my CRS score n comes to around 400..so nw hw can I increase my points..MY IELTS score R-7.5, L-8.5, W-6.5, S-7.5..Pls advise
The CRS depends primarily on your age, education, work experience and language skills.
Clearly, improving on your language skills is the most practical way to increase your score.
Try getting CLB 9 in IELTS i.e 8 in L, 7 in R/W/S.
This should help your score considerably.
WHat are the steps in applying in EXPRESS ENTRY? And is it true that the required CLB is 7? What if I get CLB6 or 5 or even worse...??? Thanks

You need a valid IELTS and ECA before you create your profile in the Express Entry Pool.
If you have them both, you are good to go.
Once you create a profile, you'll get a score (CRS).
CIC frequently conducts draws from this pool.
If your CRS is more than the cut off score, you'll get an invite (ITA).
Then you apply for the visa by completing an elaborate application and uploading the required documents.
CIC then processes your application within 6 months.
And yes, you need atleast CLB 7 to apply.
What's Eca? So one won't be eligible if they got CLB 6 or lower????

ECA is Educational Credential Assessment.
No, CLB 6 won't do.

Please go through the CIC website to get a hang of the basic concepts.

All are approximate:
300 IELTS
250 WES
500 medical
300 translations if you need certified translations (this varies a lot depending on the country where you do the translations)
100 police checks
1040 application fees for
These are the main ones as far as I remember. All approximate and just for
one person.
I wish they made it simpler and asked for more money. the worst part is the time that you should spend for preparing all these documents!

as far as I know they should be similar but not exactly the same. the wording should be different for sure. the list of duties should be a bit different. having some more, not having a few of them.
But let's wait and see what happens
Hello Experts;
I have question regarding the education points in express entry. I have done Bachelors from India and did my Masters in Canada. Do i need to evaluate my India bachelor's degree because I already have Canadian Masters degree. And if I did the WES evaluation then would i get extra points for bachelor's education apart from the points that I am already getting for my Masters degree in Canada.
