URGENT !!!!!! PLEASE ! - PGWP 90 Days

Hello everyone,

PGWP = Post Graduation Work Permit

A friend of mine could not apply with in 90 days after she graduated the graduation date on transcript is April 17, today the date is July 27.
Is it ok if she applies today (today is 100th day), any experiences with you guys?

We are thinking to write a letter along with the application why it was not under 90 days, any advises please.....

CIC doesn't make exceptions. If you fail to apply within 90 days then you no longer qualify for a PGWP. Why didn't you apply within 90 days?

I have same kind of situation. you can ask your friend to apply for TRP or restoration of status with all supporting documents explaining the reason of not submitting before time.

I applied for PGWP extension since I was asked by CIC to renew pasport and apply for remaining PGWP. I applied for extension by mail but they sent my application back before 1 week left to expiry of my wrk permit. I work on sites for 20 days and 10 days off. By the time they sent my application no body was at my place to check mail box, so when I came back I saw my application in the box but it was too late to reapply since the deadline of old work permit expiry date was gone. so I applied for restoration now. Can I ask CIC for fast processing or any exceptions to book an appointment with officer or any possible solution.I dont want to loose my job.

There is no urgent processing option available for restoration applications. Unfortunately you should expect it will take a few months based on the experiences of others on this forum.

What exactly is that? I thought she can stay here until the decision is made?

here is the thing i believe and its just my opinion and may be wrong but if ur friends study permit is valid then ur friend should take up another course real quick. I say this because I believe ur friends PGWP will most likely be rejected since its over 90 day so I feel only way out is another course before applying for PGWP. again I may be wrong ....consult an immigration lawyer

She had huge debts to pay before she could get final graduation letter. I know its her fault, but just want to know her options.

I'm not sure there's anything you can do. CIC's rules are quite black and white. This would be a good time to consult with a very experienced immigration lawyer. Even then, there may be nothing that can be done.

Thanks for your advise, may be its the best thing to do. But again, she could hardly pay her past school fees and i doubt if she can afford another term.
We have contacted several lawyers around and every body has a different answer none had a favorable one

But if you think about it, its not like she has committed a huge crime or a big fraud. It was just a simple honest mistake mixed with financial situations can CIC not be so strict about it by considering 5 to 10 days beyond 90 day period?

Any body had any experience applying late or crossing the deadline?

Can he/she take a new course for a month if her study permit is valid and not apply for work permit at all. Apply for work permit after a semester is it possible?

Not possible. Study permits automatically become invalid 90 days after your studies are completed. So her study permit is no longer valid because it's been more than 90 days.
