I am an international student pursuing a PhD. I am applying for SOWP for my spouse who is also pursuing PhD in India, graduating next month. He does not have work experience and I hear (from a consultant) that I cannot raise SOWP if the spouse does not have work experience and that I cannot show the funds in my Canadian bank account as proof of funds for him. Did anyone have a similar situation? Does an affidavit stating I will financially support my husband help ?

He doesn't need work experience but you need to show cash in the bank of $26k plus any tuition for you to meet proof of funds. When does your permit expire?
So apply for SOWP with the cash in the bank. How long have you been married and how long did you live together once marrried?
