- Processing in Mississauga
- Secondary Office : Etobicoke
- Criminality : On Process
- Medicals: passed ( Expired ) but in GCKEY is blank
- Security: not started
- info Sharing : complete
- Background : in GCKEY : Not applicable

I think if you applied before June 14 you will be exempt from biometrics but they might ask you for it at background check

I applied on June 12 and received a letter to complete my biometrics on January 14. My biometrics were received on January 17, but I haven't received any further updates. I'm wondering what the next step might be.

When they request new bio Jan 2024 or Jan 2025?

If you applied before June 14 2023 you will be exempt from biometrics .

I called IRCC today and was told that everything has passed, including security. I am just waiting for the officer to make the final decision.
I am hoping this will be done by March.
It has been a long wait.

I submitted application for spousal sponsorship. PA is abandoned refugee claimant and IRCC is asking for PCC from his country. He does not have a passport as its with CBSA.
Please advise on this.

That he should get the PCC from which country? In addition to that, he should show an evidence that he tried to obtain the PCC from the Interpol police of that country and if wasn’t provided the then something like email communication and receipt for payment used should be able to used that he tried to obtain but factors beyond his control as his passport is with CBSA Canada and provide the copy of letter of seizure from CBSA- write an explanatory letter to IRCC processing office and attach all the documentary evidence above.

He is asked to get PCC from India.
I read it that protected person is exempted from PCC. I just want to make sure if his refugee claim is abandoned still I can provide explanation letter only, right ?
