PR through BC PNP non express entry

My husband applied for PR through bc pnp non express entry through his employer ( he is on a closed work permit) in February 2024, unfortunately the process is taking longer than usual because of comprehensive bg check. His employer is planning on closing the company by the end of march. He recently applied for an open work permit and actively looking for a new job/sponsor. Is it true that the nomination and PR application will be canceled if he changed jobs?Does anyone know or heard of a similar case and what can be done?

Yes. The company and your husband must inform BC and IRCC that company is closed because PR is based on a job offer. It is misrepresentation if he doesn’t. How is he eligible for open work permit?

It hasn’t closed yet, but yes they will inform the IRCC once it does. The BC nomination isn’t restricted to his employer.

So if not a job offer stream like Masters/Phd, then should not be an issue with PR application approval.

So they wont cancel the PR application even if he switched to a diff job once he gets his open work permit?

What stream? Your first post says he applied for PR through employer and closed work permit but then you say nomination isn’t restricted to employer. How is that possible? So he got PR without employer support or not? How eligible for OWP if on closed work permit?

He applied through the skills immigration stream, but once he received the nomination acceptance certificate, it says “not restricted to employer”. He applied for open work permit because of the crisis in Lebanon, it’s on their site as a temporary measure for Lebanese citizens in Canada.
