Hi guys... I took a biometric 5 years ago to obtain a study permit. It is valid until 2028 as shown in my IRCC account. Meanwhile, the officer asked me to take a biometric. note that my friend who applied through express entry was not asked for a new biometric. why do they ask me so?

thank you for your response. but my friend who applied through express entry was not asked for a new biometric. and his biometrics under student status was accepted. he already received his PR card.

Maybe he submitted before June 2023. The rules have changed since then

Hello Everyone. I submitted my application in January 2024. after one return, they asked me to pay a biometric fee in April. I paid it and am waiting for the officer to send me a biometrics letter. Can I take a medical exam and submit it with biometrics to avoid waiting again? I heard some of you took medical exams in advance.

Yeah you can do that but doing upfront medical doesn’t change a lot of time. And after biometric you don’t need to send anything they automatically added into the file.

My timeline and yours are almost similar. I submitted my PR application on March 3rd. They requested additional documents, which I submitted by May 10th, 2024. Since then, I have not heard back from IRCC, and it’s beginning to worry me. I don’t think the security check should take that long. I was expecting a maximum of 2 months for the check before moving to the next stage. I hope all is well!

I submitted 16 May through Webform and am still waiting. They asked me for biometric fees.
What did they ask you? It might be the cause of the delay.

I paid my biometric fee along the application fee, so i wasn't asked for the fee, i was only asked to provide more clearance on the dates on my previous works... apparently there was a mix up which i have corrected.
