Minor Oci applied at Brampton; Status still says under process.. received acknowledgment on 13 December. Our flight is booked for 24th Jan! Please suggest if it’s worth waiting or should I apply for e-visa? Also how do we collect the oci when it’s ready?

I don’t think you will get OCI before your flight. I applied on October 31 2023 at Brampton BLS, got acknowledgment on December 4 2023, and I’m expecting my OCI today as per purolator tracking. Check your receipt from the day you applied, if it has courier fees, you will get it by purolator.

i dont think you will get it before jan 24th. i applied for my minor on Nov 25 in person bls brampton. got the ack on Dec 21. so far no other updates.

Any suggestions about the Oci collection? Is it required for both parents to go collect the Oci from bls? Or can a friend collect it when purolator guys come to deliver?

Hmm thanks for the reply! I applied on Nov 8th walk-in at Brampton.. it’s been quite some time..I was expecting it between 6-8 weeks as per the timeline the lady at bls gave me.

hold on with taking e-visa now. it need only 24 hours. just take a decision on 22nd Jan. hope you will get the oci before that.

On BLS website, Application Status on January 9, 2024: (Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping)

OCI delivered on January 11, 2024

Although the OCI was received at Toronto on January 4, the status on BLS was “Processing at Consulate” till January 9.
