1. Will it be approved
2. Will you be able to use that to enter India if OCI is processed while you’re traveling
So Purolator is now looking for my 3 OCI packages. I am not sure how something as simple as this gets lost in transit in the same metropolitan region. We are talking about something coming from Toronto to Mississauga. #RANT
hi all - confused about the original document requirements for OCI. Toronto jurisdiction. Checklist says original passports need submission. All help videos say no. Same thing happened for my surrender certificate applications, and the help videos were correct, the official checklist was wrong.
This time, purolator also charged something called an 'original drop off fee'. Not sure what that means.
So: do we need to submit ANY original docs (passports, original surrender certificate, etc.) in the OCI application package?
Any insights will be appreciated.

So, one more data for the renewal case. My guess missed by 1 week though we only had one previous data pt to go by. If all those three dates appeared yesterday (with 22 Nov in IST), she could get it by courier on Friday. Otherwise earliest would be Monday, unless picked up from BLS.

1. Applying for eViSA while OCI is pending is okay.
2. I emailed the Consul in charge of Visa (CGI Toronto) about using visa after OCI approval (like the situation you metion), and the anwser was that its okay to use the VISA for travel after OCI approval.
I think the opposite. If OCI applications go down, the process can pickup its previous pace. In Toronto OCI used to process in 5 weeks from application date before the visa suspension, its 7 weeks now. We could see a gradual return to the old timeline.
For people waiting to get OCI for immediate travel - DO NOT RELY ON PUROLATOR. Try to pick up in person if possible. Your mileage may vary but its not worth it. I have a few more weeks before travel so hopefully they find it in time. In the meantime i will apply for E-VISA.
A couple of people with that date got Ack on 17th. The OCI status site you use is correct -- ensure the application number is as in the printed copy of your application.

Yes, it's a postal application. BLS received it on the 12th of October but acknowledged it on the 20th. Is it normal for the application number in the BLS tracking to be different from the application number on the printed copy? Ok not sure I checked again today with the application number and I can see the status now but again its getting updated today.
Do you have any idea how long its going to take from here to receive the OCI card based on the tracker?

Yes, it's a postal application. BLS received it on the 12th of October but acknowledged it on the 20th. Is it normal for the application number in the BLS tracking to be different from the application number on the printed copy?
It should be the same unless the form was re-filled at BLS using a value added service which can happen only on on walk-in as you need to sign the application.
That said, BLS tracking some times does have typos (not seen in application number so far).
Whatever printed application you submitted by post is what goes to CGI. Check OCI status using its number.
