OCI process

Greetings!

Are minors receiving OCI acknowledgments from the consulate lately? or do minors receive OCI delivered directly to home address without status change updates on OCI enquiry portal?

We applied for OCI (2 adults and 2 minors on Oct 3 and Oct 4 at BLS Brampton via appointments).

Both adults received acknowledgment on Oct 20 and is under-process.
But, for minors, as of today, it shows no-record found.

I checked BLS tracking a while ago and for both kids it says "processing at consulate".

I have not noticed any significant difference in processing times for minors compared to adults. Each application is processed separately, so not unusual for some to get Ack a day or two later than another with same date. Expect Ack in a day or two.

Hi @eas2lv how do I know where we get the ack?? Do you have the link? And what details should we put in ?

Go to the OCI status site (link in my signature below). The form that comes up will tell you what details to put in.

Hi all my BLS Tracker is still stuck at COUNTER DELIVERY TO BLS AFTER OCI STAMPING since I applied. It is UNDERPROCESS on OCI website. I don’t know how to call BLS. There’s no option to contact an agent on phone line.

Hi Guys,

I sent in postal 2 minor applications. On BLS website it says Application date as Oct 5th but on OCI status enquiry it still shows no records found. Is anyone still waiting for acknowledgement with application date close or same as mine? I am kind of worried. Our travel Date is Dec 20th.

Dont worry, my application date is 03 Oct and I got mine later yesterday. possibly by FRiday for you. Then add further 3 weeks approx for processing, and couple of days for purolator shipping or picking, whatever

@Terminator- when you say ADULTS apply for OCI after surrendering, and the estimates may change for minor, do you mean that for minors it will be faster or slower? (assuming all minors are born Canadian citizens and never had Indian passport)?

Purolator Delivery: Sept 28th
BLS Email Ack: Sept 29th
BLS Return (I made errors in the form): Oct 10th (received by me)

Purolator Delivery #2: Oct 13th
BLS Email Ack: Oct 17th (not updated on BLS Website yet)

At this stage its not even passed on to the consulate. Count another 3 weeks after that for it to show up on OCI status site.

Can we do two different addresses for PICK UP and DROP OFF for OCI, I might be travelling so need to provide a friend's address?
Has anyone done the same in the past or heard of the same?

@eas2lv wrote that he observed not much difference between minors and adults in processing times.


So dont worry too much about the difference I guess, just allow for regular standard deviations from the mean service times . Currently the mean is 3 weeks in each processing stage and standard deviation is 1 week. So 66% of cases should be within that band . I guess

In-person/Postal - Copy is enough.
In-person, they verify and give it back.
