How many photos do I need to send?
Fees payment is confusing. Should it be payable to HCI or BLS intl services like for SC application?

Should I wait for it to change to "Ready for pickup" or can I directly go collect it today ?

BLS updated status to Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping on 20-SEP-2023

I did have an issue where I was asked to submit a copy of my marriage certificate by the Vancouver Consulate on 18-SEP-2023. Other than that, everything was smooth as butter!

Surrender certificate process is different from OCI. You need to make a DD for Consulate General and not BLS! Please follow the instructions listed on BLS/Consulate general website. If it is a postal application you will need to make a separate DD for BLS.

I applied on Sept 13th - Walk-in BLS Toronto.

BLS Tracker - Sept 14th - Processing at Consulate General
OCI Website - No records found.

Any idea how long before ACK from OCI.

Partner’s application submitted in person at BLS Toronto on Sept 8.
The OCI portal finally got updated today (Sept 20) with a date of acknowledgment and status as “Under Process”. Just praying we get the approved OCI document asap and the ongoing situation doesn’t affect it.

Understood. I will not consider this postal route then to mail out the OCI card. Better to collect it in person by oneself, I guess.

One can get surrender certificate done in India and then do the OCI process in Canada?

I am planning to travel to India with my Canadian Passport on an e-visa soon after the Oath. I might be staying in India for more than a month, and I plan to get the surrender certificate done through the local Passport kendra during this time. Is that alright? I can then come back and do the usual OCI process through BLS in Toronto with this surrender certificate in hand.
