Hello,
I have a question:
I got my test approved on tracker on 12 Sept, do you think it will be possible to get citizenship and then passport before 28 Oct?
As I'm traveling out of country on 28 Oct.
Please share any insight if available.

Has anyone noticed that Ontario applications are progressing slowly? Or is it just me?

Seems random to me. Some are extremely slow, and some have already got oath invite. I'm in the slow boat. No update since August 16, 2023. Completed my test on August 30, 2023. Has not been updated on the tracker, everything is in progress.

They tend to not reply for things which does not matter for your application. Marriage also is one of it.

Things which matter -

• change your address
• plan to leave Canada for more than 2 weeks in a row
• can’t check your application status online and the normal processing time for your application has passed
• are charged with a crime
• applied as part of a group, but now want to continue the application by yourself
• need an accommodation or a waiver (exemption) for
  • the citizenship test
  • proving your English or French language skills
  • the oath of citizenship

Finally a lot of good news after no update for few time since test invite. Thanks God.
After my test didn't get any update until pass weekend with test showing complete and LPP being complete. and today received the Oath invite. so grateful.

I gave my exam on 21st Aug
Tracker updated on 29th Aug
Oath scheduled for 20th Sep

I honestly believe it is just random luck. In which "pile" your application ends up sitting. I applied in early June and haven't received any update after AOR. So nobody has even opened my application yet. Whereas, some people that applied later already have been invited to the oath.

few Applicants from Ontario specially MIS VO already get oath invite.

I honestly believe it is just random luck. In which "pile" your application ends up sitting. I applied in early June and haven't received any update after AOR. So nobody has even opened my application yet. Whereas, some people that applied later already have been invited to the oath.

It is frustrating. I am in slow boat as well.

Applied June 6, got aor July 7, background check completed July 17, since then absolutely frustrating silence. It’s truly getting very hard to even get slight excitement for those, who applied 2-4 weeks later and already became citizens..

This is an honest statement and totally valid. Unfortunately there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how applications are processed. Perhaps a complete overhaul of the system needs to be looked at, to include enhancing technology so that there can be increased transparency. I called an agent last speak. Spoke to an amazing guy, there is nothing holding up the application it’s just waiting on the agent…

I strongly believe there should be the FIFO methodology and only in those cases where a further deep dive is required those may take some time.

Yeah, the system is quite frustrating and they should review it at some point. How did you manage to talk with an agent?

I took my test on 4th Sept and no update since then. Test still says in progress with everything else except Ceremony ofcourse.
