One tip just be there between 1:45 - 2:00 pm if it is possible to be early in the line else there may be a long queue if you arrive around 3

would recommend contacting VFS Global in US. They are way better then BLS does in Canada, actually BLS was removed from providing services few years ago in US. no harm in making a call

I hear that BLS Brampton/Toronto ask you to submit original Surrender Certificate when you submit it via walk in appt and then send it back via courier for an extra cost. Is that mandatory or can we just give a copy and avoid that extra expense? Everyone know s Canada BLS processing is a cash grab. Has anyone done this?

29-Jun-2023: Postal application sent
30-Jun-2023: Received at BLS
04-Jul-2023: BLS status application received
07-Jul-2023: BLS under process
10-Jul-2023: BLS Processing at Consulate General
17-Jul-2023: OCI Under Process (Date of Ack: 17-Jul-23)

Damnit. I know if you are sending your application via courier u dont need to send original surrender certificate. Listening to all the shit these BLS ppl pull boils my blood. Indian govt obviously dont give a shit about all things these guys do.

For SC, the total fees is 129.40$. Is that correct. Bcoz I got confused with payment mode for postal applications which says to include passport fee+consular fee +BLS fee etc.
Is it all covered in that 129.40$ or I am misunderstanding it.
PS : I will be paying for pickup and drop separately.

Lets not blame government for everything. If all Indian community together here together sign off an appeal and present to Indian Consulate and copy to Ministry of External Affairs India, i am sure an action will be taken, I believe BLS was doing the same in US as well and their services were discontinued and VFS Global was brought in.

Also for SC, the form asks to upload a photo on the form but I can’t see any link to it. Can anyone share their experience please?
