I dont know if this is the right time to bring this up.... From what I hear, it seems Canada job market is not so good (at least for this year) and people within Canada are finding it difficult to land a job.
So my question is why Canada keeps inviting immigrants under such circumstances? Do you guys know if this is true? any thoughts on this?
People dont land immediately. Takes quite some time to land. That being said most of my friends who landed on a PR this year got a job within 2 months without any ties. What job you get depends on how good you are. Location doesn't change anything.
once you get an ITA your express entry profile is locked and unavailable for Ontario to send you anything. So by default you decline any nomination. In my case my points have already dropped this month cause of age to 470 from 476 and I only attempted IELTS again for an adequate score so I wont be anywhere near 470 anymore after 19th July. Basically if I do get a nomination on July 5 I will only have 2 weeks to apply or wait for OINP.
For others who don't have any such problems they might want to apply. For me if I don't get OINP NOI, Ill have to retake IELTS which I personally hate.
How is my CRS score affected if my birthday arrives after I have received ITA?
Do I lose points for age, if my birthday falls after I have received ITA?
Wow, so much confusion on this.
Please know that your CRS will not be affected due to change in age once you have received your ITA. In other words, your CRS points for age are locked on receipt of ITA.
So if your birthday arrives after you have received ITA, you won’t lose points and your application cannot be refused due to this reason.

I dropped to 470 from 476 after Ontario AOR. And now I'll drop even lower after 19th July when my IELTS expires and new score isn't high enough. However unless there is someone like me in the Ontario May 5 draw, I am going to assume everyone will apply for Express Entry directly if the STEM draw gives them an ITA.

I think if I cant get my documents in those 14 days I might have to stick to OINP. I wont have 60 days like everyone else cause IELTS expires and AOR must be before that date. I might be able to submit most documents except PCC before that. I apply for PCC next week either way.
That being said I am currently 470 and I highly doubt I will get an ITA. At 475 and above (everyone in this thread) I would say high chances. 470 sounds very difficult to me.

I did contact them, they haven't replied to any of my 3 emails yet! I am hoping it comes up with something real soon! I have shared all the supporting images to them. I hope you comes up right
You might get a second chance in this upcoming STEM / Healthcare draw. I would suggest if you get an ITA apply and forget about OINP. You might even get a refund.
The EE draws are lingering around mid 480s. Between 475 and 482 (This may 5 draw we are in) only 1800 invites were there for tech people 60 days ago. The health draw was 500 and getting additional 1500 invites next week. This means with just 2000 invites you are already looking at 475. And I dont think they will only invite 2000 tech people every 2 months (Ontarios last tech draw was in March). That number will be much higher and scores will likely drop lower than 470 because just inviting 4000-5000 tech people will drop the CRS below 470.
That being said its very much possible that for a PR stunt (Biden and Modi did some PR with H1B stamping that changed almost nothing) you might see the news next week-
"Canada invites 10000 Tech workers to apply for permanent residency in the largest draw ever" and drop the CRS to 460 and then don't bother to do one for months.
You really don't know what to expect in terms of numbers. But if I was entering EE with 465 right now as STEM person I would say stick to it for a year at least. You will get an ITA.
