I recently received an ITA for CEC inland with a non-accompanying spouse. However, my spouse is in Canada on a SOWP. I did my medical in 2020 for my student visa but studied two semesters online from back home country. I landed in Canada in 2021. I have following 2 concerns.
1. Do I appear for upfront medical now or should I use my old IME while submitting my application using the new temporary policy for medical until Oct 2024?
2. As my husband is non-accompanying, Do I use my husband's old medical or should he be doing new medical as he is not applying PR at this point?
Please advise.
Your valuable suggestions are highly welcomed.
To answer your questions:
1) The temporary public policy only apply to medicals done inside of Canada. You can submit the old one but they will later send you a medical request during the processing. I would suggest getting a new one done.
2) Medical is still needed even though he is non-accompanying. Same as you, if his medical was done outside of Canada the policy does not apply. He needs a new one.
Additionally, what do you mean your spouse is non-accompanying? He is currently on a Spousal OWP and I can only assume you two are living together in Canada. Why is he not on the application?
I have my medical done from home country when I applied for my SP in 2018. IRCC used this for my PR application. I did not submit my old IME with my PR application. I just received MP after receiving my AOR.
Thanks for your reply. If you did not submit your OLD IME with your PR application, then what did you submit where there is an option to upload upfront medical?

Maybe for non-EE, we can wait for MR. But for EE-CEC we must upload upfront. Thanks for the confirmation that your old medical done from Back Home Country was carried forward for PR application.
