Hi I got canadian citizenship and passport yesterday, now would like to apply for OCI for myself and daughter can any one guide me i followed forms but don't know where to start. I want to travel to india in 1 month pls adivice quick method to get it and i live in toronto tnq

One month is a short time for getting OCI. You have to first surrender your passport and then apply for OCI.

Yes you can but you will have to queue up early at the centre they start at 8:00 and close by around 1:00 pm

why cannot you google this rather than asking here and waiting for a response? Members here are very helpful but we should also do our homework and seek guidance if anything is not clear IMO.

what do you mean by visa stamp? there is nothing stamped on OCI on travel. there will be always entry/exit stamps on passport.

Place of Birth, Canadian passport: SHIVPURI, INDIA
I believe it is going to show in OCI app as: SHIVPURI, MADHYAPRADESH, INDIA

Do I need to get an affidavit ? please suggest

Also, BLS does not keep original citizenship certificate. Is that correct ?

Good afternoon,

You must need a notarized affidavit for the change in place of birth. Otherwise, your OCI card wont get accepted.

No, you dont need any stamp on your canadian passport. Only the oci card is enough.
Stamp was needed before when there was no booklet issued for the OCI

OCI card duration is 6 to 8 weeks, Check on the BLS website for the status.
