Hello friends
I am also from AOR in October 2022 under FSW. Applied through a representative, so no access to GC key. On May 14 got access to the tracker and from there I got to know everything else is completed except the BGC which is showing in progress. Called at IRCC and got the reply that security check is going on whereas criminality and information sharing is complete.
Would like to know how much more time will they take to complete everything.

Background check doesn't always take that long unless you have been put under 'comprehensive security screening". In my knowledge, yours security check must be in process with CBSA, CSIS and mostl likely your application should be through soon.

Hi Deepak, do you any update on your application? I am FSW-Inland with AOR of 28/10, and I am still in background verification stage.

I'm too FSW-PNP-O with AOR 26/10. At this point even my eligibility is in progress and security hasn't started.
To my limited knowledge, background check showing NA means eligibility is passed. So going ahead, I feel you're almost there and must receive a final decision this week.

Did you call at IRCC to know at which stage is your BGC? I am also stuck at this stage. I called and they said security check is going on whereas criminality and info sharing are complete.

I have a query about changing jobs and the Background Check timelines.

I got nominated under the Alberta Provincial Nomination via the Alberta Tech Pathway stream and currently in the process of my PR application via the Express Entry.

My application is at the Background Check stage for over 5 months now. (Not sure why it is taking such a long time as some of the other similar applications via Alberta PNP Tech Pathway are getting completed from AOR to eCOPR in like 3-4 months).

I want to understand if I were to change my current job, will this affect my PR application which is in progress? If yes, how and what will be the affects?

My timeline (Inland application - currently with 3yrs OWP arrived in May)

20 Aug'22 - EE Profile created
26 Aug'22 - Applied for PNP under Alberta Tech Pathway
22 Sept'22 - PNP Received & Accepted
28 Sept'22 - ITA Received after Draw on same day
5 Oct'22 - Upfront Medical Done
6 Oct'22 - Applied for PR & Received AOR
27 Oct'22 - Medical Results updated
28 Oct'22 - Police certs received by IRCC


If anyone been through similar situation, please advice or share your exp.

What does your tracker say?? Do you have BGC in progress whilst other things are shown as completed?? In my case I don’t know since when BGC is in progress in the tracker. I don’t have access to GC Key. Try contacting IRCC to know the exact stage of BGC.

My application tracker says that the Background check in Progress (since over 5 months now) and Eligibility not yet started, rest of the 2 items are in Completed status.

I think you should order GCMS notes and call at IRCC as well. From the notes you will have a fair view of various things.
