Hi everyone,

I recently got approved for Permanent Residency on May 8, 2023. I confirmed that I was in Canada on the same day and submitted my Photo and Address on May 9, 2023.
My friends and I planned for a Mexico Trip on my birthday (June 1) until the 6th of June. However, I haven't got my PR Card yet to this date and I am confused about what steps to do in the following weeks. Is there a way I can possibly enter Canada on June 6?

I researched about booking a private land travel from the US to Canada, however, I don't have a valid US Tourist Visa as I am a Philippine Citizen before I got my PR Card.

Appreciate the replies!

You should apply for a PRTD ASAP! See this thread where someone in a very similar situation was able to successfully obtain a PRTD (applied while still in Canada) for an `urgent' reason...a vacation!
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/prtd-application-submitted-in-canada-success-story.794260/

You will likely not be able to board your flight back to Canada without a PRTD. If you had been able to fly to the U.S., you could have re-entered Canada at a land PoE, using your landing papers.

You may have no choice but to cancel your trip, because you don't have much time to get the PRTD.

I will try to apply a PRTD on Monday even if I am still in Canada. Is it okay to ride a plane with PRTD or still private land vehicle?

You would not need the PRTD if you enter Canada at a land PoE in a car. The airline requires a valid PR Card or a PRTD.

What is your contingency plan if you cannot get the PRTD in time?

The last thing you need is to be stuck in Mexico, unable to board a flight back to Canada, right?!

Well in that case, I have to apply for a PRTD so I can fly back to Canada, or worse, cancel my trip.

Is talking to an MP Office or sending webforms gonna help for my PR Card?

No. Submit the PRTD application today.
I am looking at Application for PRTD but there are no links or whatever on where I should apply. Do you know where I can apply for it?

Nevermind. I saw it on my PR Portal but I haven't received my eCoPR yet.

So...are you NOT officially a PR yet?

So, you already have a visa to visit Mexico, correct?

Which airline are you using?

Philippine Passport holders do not need a Mexican Visa if they have work or study in Canada or as a PR. We can stay for 30 days w/o a Mexican Visa for tourist purposes.

So you mean, I can still travel on June 1st with my PGWP and TRV and delay the acceptance of my eCoPR?
Maybe, but not really sure about that. The eCoPR is relatively new, so perhaps once it is issued, you're automatically a PR?

Once you become a PR, your PGWP and TRV will be cancelled, so...if you can delay becoming a PR until you get back...that may solve your problem?
