Yes. All required originals in checklist need to be mailed. They will mail back the originals if you have selected Purolator drop off after two weeks or so.

When many stated in this thread that you don't need to send originals, I am not sure why one would take such a risk.

Walk in should be available but you will have to go first thing early in the morning
I remember there copy centre few shops away many years ago but not sure if it still exists now
Worst come to worst you can get the copy from within BLS as well and I dont have to spell it out, those guys rip you off in the name of "value add services"

I am just stating the procedure that was mentioned in website and that I followed for my 3 OCI applications. Rest is upto you.

For Photograph, we upload it on the OCI portal and then same photograph is automatically added on the application form. So, do we need to take the same photo as well, or the photograph in the application form is all that is required?

Yes, you have to take a photograph.

as @eparker42 mentioned above, You'll need to submit the photo that you uploaded on the OCI website to BLS as well.
In case of minor's you would need one more photograph, which to be pasted on the No Objection Letter as well.

Yes, I know it's in the checklist but my question was whether that is over and above the one already in the printed application form. Seems like it is

Agent at bls told me if one parent doesn't have a status in Canada, he has to sign the form and NOC and notarized it and send the original via mail. Can he actually scan and send it through email or do I have to submit the original itself?

Last minute of OCI submission, I need clarity. Can someone help.



On the OCI Ottawa checklist I do not see anywhere it states that the document needs to be translated.

My daughter Birth certificate was issued in Quebec 4 years back and it is fully french in both long form and short form. Do I need to make it a certified translation? I am going to the Montreal office 30th June Morning before opening time.

Anyone from Montreal with a French Birth certificate successfully submitted the OCI?
