Start by using the search function on the board to research AOR timelines regarding citizenship applications. You can drill it down quite a bit to narrow the results.
Add to the fact that currently there is a strike which means full time IRCC processing officers are on strike. This will have an impact on timelines.
There are people who applied in march still waiting for AOR.
It also depends on what type of application. Paper, online, family, single.
Every application is different.
My advice is to Netflix and chill. You’ll get it when you get it.
The Diplomat on Netflix is fantastic. Daisy Jones & The six on Amazon Prime is also fantastic.
Ghosted (AppleTV+) is so bad it made me start cleaning up at home instead.
There are tons.
I work in the industry. Unfortunately it’s very slow this year as Writers Guild of America have threatened to go on strike for a while. Now it looks like they are May 1st which basically means American shows (which there are many filming in Canada) do not dare to start production until the strike is over. This is effecting my entire industry. We can’t film if we don’t have scripts to film.
The writers are concerned about losing millions of dollars EACH due to streaming conglomerates like Netflix, Prime, etc. instead of making money on residuals when a network sells a show to another country, and all the re-runs. They only get a flat fee. And they’re (rightly) scared of A.I.
So do please talk to me about how the PSAC strike is affecting your application while my industry in Canada grinds to a halt thanks to a possible strike in USA. I’m currently living off savings and E.I. I’m surviving and hunkered down until it blows over as we know from history (past writer strikes, pandemic shut down) that when we come back it’s going to be nuts.
Not 100%.
I forgot what the exact number was. It was definitely enough. I don't know how to check in my application.
I'm in Canada for 6 years now and was gone for about 3 weeks in total.
But thinking about that right now that is not right
I'll double check and put the right number in..
So here is the wired thing. If I do a physical presence calculation it says 1826 days. From Feb 28 2017 into April 11 2023.
But if I calculate 365 days x6 I'm in the country for 2190 days.
How does that make sense?
With me 19 days gone in total I'm definitely good.
