Hello all,
Since IRCC cut off the processing time to 9 weeks for Study Permit (from outside Canada), it would be faster for SDS as well,
I have been checking and following other people who just got their study permit through SDS stream within only 22 days since their biometric updated,
However, reflecting to my case, I submitted on 15th Mar, biometric done on 20th Mar. Not have medical exam passed/ updated yet. Anyone have updated on Medical exam yet? Please share your timeline.
People who have submitted same this period of time and looking forward to study permit, please join this thread and share your timeline as well your concern ^^! Maybe we should ease our worries a little bit while waiting for the result.
My wait is longer than yours. File submitted on 22nd FEB thru SDS process. Biometric update on 27th Feb and Medicals updated on 6th March (review started on the same date). The wait starts from 6th March, till now no update. Waiting like a man chasing the clouds.

Luckily I got PPR on 7 April, however, I think even you are supposed to receive the PPR soon, you should consider about change flight. We don't know exactly when will have PPR.

Thanks for the reply!
We’re thinking about changing the flight, but I’m worried about when we’re going to have an solid info about it. There’s a strike ongoing now, do you think/know that it could affect visa applications outside Canada such as VFS?

It depends on which country you applied from. I heard that if you apply through SDS stream, applications will be proccessed by IRCC in Canada. However, there are more offices of IRCC can process now. Since they ebstalished one more office in Philipines, the processing time is much shorter than before. My friends who applied from Feb/ Mar are getting their result under SDS stream.
However, since you get PPR and get your visa stamp, it could be take up to 1 more week to process at VFS.

It's hardly the case, most of the SDS applications are processed in IRCC offices in Canada. So you have kind of limitation there on how many applications they can process at once, and given the current IRCC worker strike I don't think it will be back at Their normal processing time anytime soon.
