My background verification is also "in progress" from not started. But my eligibility has been completed since 27 March... So it's been a long-ish wait for me since eligibility. I wonder if there is any meaning to this update with background verification.

AOR 23rd March, UCI/BIO linked 4th April. Got my background check in process. But it is weird since my medical and eligibility were not even started. I thought a Background check should be the last one after all the other stages passed.

Same condition. Waiting for medical to update. UCI/Bio updated on 3rd April.

Just had a ghost update.
Nothing changed on tracker and GCkey tho.

Apparently, this ghost update was for my background check.
Today, as many others said, its status changed from "Not started" to in "In progress."

I have a theory.... maybe everyone's BG check got updated to in "progress" yesterday because CBSA/CSIS have a big part in the BG check and they are not on strike. So, perhaps IRCC handed over a lot of work to CBSA/CSIS yesterday so that they can work on it while IRCC is on strike
