Probably someone at IRCC reviewed your file or started working on your file. Usually a GU is followed by some change in status. Good luck

Hello everyone,

Can someone help me understand what does it mean by 'In progress ecas' ?

I received my AOR on 24th Feb 2023. When I login to ecas, status shows as 'Application Received'. I created my citizenship tracker account and there it shows 'In progress'.

Which status is correct? As per which status the tracker sheet 'In progress ecas' is column is getting updated?

From what I remember, ecas stands for Educational credential assessments (ECAs) but not sure how is that applicable for Citizenship applications.

tracker account: https://tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en ---After creating tracker account my status shows 'In Progress'.

which one I should follow? As per which status the tracker sheet 'In progress ecas' is column is getting updated?

It is exactly the same for me. I got AOR on 24th Feb and was able to create the tracker today i.e. 28th Feb and it shows In progress. ECAS shows Application Received for me too. I guess we're using the tracker sheet "In progress ecas" based on the the tracker account since the ECAS link works only for Paper Applicants.

What does ghost update means?

If a Visa officer updates on your profile or application, a message appears on the status that “application/profile updated” which is normally known as a “ghost update”! It doesn't mean that your application will be refused. But, most likely your application has gone to the next stage.

Sweet! Congrats! Yes, a Canadian PSI diploma is sufficient proof of language requirement. As it says on the official website:

If you did, send a copy of proof that you completed or are attending a program with your application. Proof can be your:

• diploma
• transcript
• certificate

Is your application processing in Sydney, NS?

I'm not sure how to check which office. My address is in BC, so I presume it's Vancouver?
