IRCC will know when and where someone enters the country, and when and where they leave the country by land and air through CBSA who can access biographic entry information on all travellers (including Canadian citizens). In the TR to PR Pathway, temporary policies are in place to ensure you cannot be denied PR just for being out of country. IRCC recognizes the processing has taken longer than expected & that not everyone has the resources or support to stay in Canada while waiting. If you get the PR email asking you several questions including whether or not you are in Canada, tell the truth — do not risk being caught in a lie. Best wishes!
How about if your outside Canada and you don't have a valid TRV to bring you back? How do you answer the question "When do you estimate to come back?"

Hey Guys,

probably a dumb question, but what exactly is pr credentials, pr portal, pr confirmation email??

So yesterday I got an email for which I had to send a reply including my UCI, application #, height etc? What do you call this email?? And what will be the next steps?? If someone could answer these questions and explain me steps that would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @CherAmie

Regarding the PR portal process, the email states that "in your reply to this email, fill in the information for yourself and for each member of your family..."
Is this referring to the dependants on one's application, or in general (parents and siblings etc)?

It means your spouse & dependents specifically -- no parents or siblings (unless they you are their legal dependents because they have mental or physical disabilities & rely on you for support). Answer the questions in the same reply email for each of your spouse & children.

what if we apply visitor but get response on tr to pr in the time? what next? i can reply to approval email stating spouse not inside canada and request a trv for him?
Basically, yes. You can reply that you are in Canada & that he is out of country. Now here is where I am not sure about the process because I have not had to deal with it directly (hopefully someone else can add more details) -- I don't know if IRCC will guide you and your out-of-country spouse on what he needs to do to get a travel permit (TRV? PRTD? eTA? Other?) to come to Canada, or if you have to just initiate the process yourself. Sorry, wish I knew more on this subject. If a more solid answer doesn't follow soon on this thread, I'd invest the time to call IRCC's call centre. And I would still try to request a Visitor's Visa (6 months) in the hopes that he can arrive before you get PR, and you can then reply that he is in Canada. Best wishes!
