Hello, I receive a ghost update I think today.
Nothing change, I see New Update next to Aug 22, 2022 Application filed

Everyone got a ghost update?

In the top Right, if you see the date change and nothing happen on your application, thats the ghost update

Thanks! So far I've applied for 3 work permits, 1 PR, and 1 Citizenship and never seen that happen. I would usually either get an accompanying email or there is really an update on my application profile.

Normally the email is 2 working days after the Ghost Update

There is no email for updates on the citizenship portion, maybe for PR and other things we did have emails for updates.

Right now, if your "Updated" date changes and no update shows up in the list, that means it's a "ghost" update and something happened on your file. Most times an update will follow in 2 days. Sometimes a ghost update does not follow up with an actual update, that would be because something happened but no notable milestone to report.

The tracker lags behind GCMS for 48-72 hours. so updates usually show up 2 days after the date they are made.

The officials do send actual emails about your applications in the case they need something (like fingerprints, passport copy) or if you need to take a test, or if you need to attend an oath.

I've been following this forum and just made an account to share my progress with you all:

Visa Office: Montreal
Background Check completed: Dec 16 2022
Citizenship Test completed: Jan 16 2023
Prohibitions Completed: Feb 17 2023
Physical Presence Completed: Feb 17 2023
Language Skills Completed: Feb 17 2023
Oath Ceremony: Not Started

At the time I applied, I was quite worried about the 24+ processing time and all the talk about paper vs. online applications. It seems IRCC has clearly picked up their speed since then, and online applications are being treated a lot more fairly. Less than 6 months from application submission to DM. Now a little more wait and this 9+ year journey is about to come to an end.

I have exactly the same, test email on 14th, test window 17th to 09th however; I gave test on 18th.. Please update when you get an update, I would update if I get one. Thanks!
