Hi, I am receiving gift deed from my mom. But it is impossible for her to send the full amount from Nigeria due to financial restrictions in the country directly to my account here in Canada. So the money is sent to a friend's account in UK and then sent in installment to my account here in Canada. How should the gift deed by formatted. Does she have to only state that she is the primary donor? Thanks.
no, I am not saying that I want to use the gift deed as proof of funds, the amount that will be sent to me is what I will use. My question was basically since there are financial restrictions on sending money directly from Nigeria to Canada, the money was sent through third-party channels to my account here in Canada. what should the gift deed say, should my mother be the primary donor only and do I need a letter of explanation as well

Who is asking for an explanation/gift deed? I'm not aware of any explanation required in the transfer process, other than a small explanation field during the transfer process where you'd just put something like "Remittance" or "Gift."
Thus no explanation is required - unless your bank calls and asks in which case you just need to let them know that the money was sourced legitimately.
So the gift deed is usually a legal document to certify that money you receive from someone else is a gift and not a loan amount.
You will usually need it if you have a large amount being received from someone which contributes to your proof of funds for your application.
You can have your application refused if you can't explain your proof of funds adequately. The gift deed is the safest way to certify the amount received.

Yes, I am receiving a gift deed from my mom but it's not coming directly to my account but through multiple parties due to financial restrictions in my Country. Does the gift deed from her enough to proof the funds sent regardless of the multiple parties it came through?
