Hi, Jeff, how can we do adjustment to update part 5 residence obligation from the existing application? I found that "period to be assessed" cannot be edit, thus any days after that won't be calculated automatically. You could not face the same problem, but I did leave the country after my application for Christ vacation, thus need to update days out of Canada after the original application date.
Thanks for instant response. Yes, this is the only way to save all the jobs done I guess. But I just initiated a new one...the old one is still there and I cannot delete any of them...has no idea to start a new one for myself (it's said one account can submit for family members up to 5, it is!)
I noticed before I finally submitted an existing application, I cannot initiate another one for the same purpose. But right now, I can see and edit my old application, and looks OK if I resubmit it except I cannot change the calculation period update, which Jeff just mentioned his way to solve the problem.
Headache, anyone has the experience about this? Start a new one or keep the old one with an explanation letter?

am not an expert but would think to follow Jeff's recommendation (resubmit with an explanation letter ) instead of starting a new one (which could also cause complications). Again am no expert

I believe so. Let me call IRCC tomorrow, although I guess no one really knows, just follow their common sense...a new one, or an old one with explanation. Most likely, I will be in the same boat with Jeff; at least the application fee looks still good to continue the return case, not another one...

Hi everyone, my spouse and I applied together for a PR card renewal in mid-November. My card got approved and shipped in 2 months while my spouse didn't even receive AOR to this day. We were about to re-submit a new application thinking it probably got lost somehow but when crossing the border a few weeks ago returning from a trip, the agent confirmed my spouse card is indeed "processing". He didn't give us anymore information. I found this super odd as we didn't even get an AOR, how can it be still processing 3 months later? Can anyone share he best number to contact IRCC and ask more questions? And is anyone else in a similar situation? Thanks a lot!
Why are some people who are renewing their PR card getting it so quickly and others are waiting for months…
I applied for renewal on 15 September and haven’t heard anything ever since, any September applicants, can you please share timeline and where you applied from
Just got an update that my pr card renewal was approved and mailed today Feb 1, 2023. Below is my timeline:
PR card renewal sent thru PR Portal
Submitted: Dec. 8, 2022
First week of January on PR Portal Incomplete application showed up under Return Reason. View button was grey and could not click it also did not get any email so I sent a webform asking what was missing(Did not get any reply).
Third week of January Incomplete application was gone.
Found application on GCKEY: Jan. 27, 2023
Approved and mailed: Feb,1 2023
PR portal still says submitted. Could not find application on ECAS. Did not get AOR or any emails from IRCC.
This forum was very helpful and Ill update when I receive card on mail.
Jeff, I remember you got "photo missing" twice? And you resubmitted the revised one with explanation and got response for the second time "photo missing"?

So I resubmitted, updated section 4 and 5, add an explanation letter. Actually there is a travel log option in file type, so I believe it will be OK. Many thx.
Status turns to submitted, view button turns gray and cannot be activated, but still a return reason shows "Photos are missing". Is yours the same?
So, I managed to talk with an IRCC agent and it turns out that the immigration office at the POE did not start the PR card application when I landed! Even though I asked him several times and he actually wrote down my Canadian address.
I am speechless.
I asked the IRCC to give me the application number and I am going to try linking it to my account once the 24h cooldown expires.

From what I have heard it depends on the complexity of your PR application, if it is straightforward renewal(met RO easily, living in Canada, submitted all the docs etc.) its fast and if it is a complex application(not meeting RO, met RO through exceptions like living abroad, too much travel etc.) takes longer.
But again I also feel it is also a lot to do with your luck, I wish the online portal was seamless and less buggy, the portal has the capability to really speed up approval by removing so many manual steps.
