Hello guys,i applied for TR to PR in 2021,in may i received a message saying that my PR application was cancelled. After talking with agent, she told me that it seemed to be a mistake and i received an email 1 month later telling me to be patient, because my application was not available on the system yet.
Currently i m under interim work permit and apparently i can ask for a work permit again (before dec 31 2022). I want to do it but i m not sure if i should because I'm worried to be rejected again (it might look bad to be refused twice by the immigration one consultant told me),i dont have any update about the Pr but if that work ill be relived for a moment.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thank you very much
You should be eligible for the ‘OWP under TR to PR Pathway’ & can apply at 4 months before your work permit expires, which for you means RIGHT NOW before your permit expires on Dec 31, 2022. If you were eligible for TR to PR, then you are eligible for the 'OWP under TR to PR Pathway'. Read the instructions all the way through several times because some of the instructions do not logically follow what is requested online, but follow the instructions anyway because that is how they are 'routing' your application to the right area for processing.
Just received my GCMS notes requested back in July ! couple of points:
- Throughout the document there is no where any sort of officer code. Where did you guys found yours in the doc ?
- I remember there was a due date discussed here from GCMS note around one year from AOR/Link. There is no such thing in my file. Each subsection has some due dates, in my case latest due date in notes is for criminality which is 5 Dec 2022, date of GCMS notes being 12 Dec 2022. However criminality still shows in progress. Any idea whats happening ?
- Any other thing I should focus in the notes ?
Thanks folks.

Just check the notes on the last pages for the details. Right now, IRCC is not sending detailed notes with the application due date and officer codes. I also received a brief version of GCMS notes similar to yours.

Just wait, the officer will send you a username and password to log in PR Portal. Once you log in, you will have your ecopr there and just upload the address and photo for the PR card.

You can reply and let them know you are outside of Canada. It depends upon the officer. Previously, they were allowing people to come back as usual and just reply to portal email again. But from last week, I have seen a couple of cases, where the officer send the letter that the applicant doesn't meet TR2pr requirements once they replied to the portal that they are outside Canada. Letter asked them to apply for a temporary policy to get a PR visa from outside Canada.
Sample Letter response send to some applicants if you replied that you are outside Canada> This refers to the application for permanent residence you made under the Temporary Publie Policy: Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway (TR to PR Pathway), in Workers in- Canada: Stream B (essential non-healthcare).
I am now completing assessment of your TR to PR Pathway application; however, it appears that you may not meet TR to PR Pathway requirements.
Applicants in the TR to PR Pathway must be physically present in Canada at the time the application for permanent residence is received and when the application is approved.
Based on the most recent information you provided us, you are outside Canada. Therefore, I have concerns you do not meet the requirements of the TR to PR Pathway, which requires you to be in physically present in Canada at the time your application for permanent residence is approved.
We wish to advise you there is a temporary public policy for the issuance of permanent resident visas for TR to PR Pathway applicants who are outside Canada that you may apply for no later than 60 days after your application for permanent residence is refused.
To apply for the public policy, you must respond via your MyCIC account within 60 days from the date of this letter clearly stating that you wish to be considered under this public policy.
I look forward to receiving your response. If you choose not to respond. I will make my decision based on the information before me, which may result in refusal of your application.
No timeline. It depends upon officer who is checking your file. You can call the IRCC contact centre or Local MP to get more information about your file.
