Trying to book an appointment at Brampton BLS for OCI. It does not show any dates in Jan, 2023. And all slots booked in Dec, 2022. Any body having similar issues. Somebody guide me how to proceed.

They open appointment slots, however I am still not sure when they open it. Someone was able to book at around 5 PM earlier.

No, it's not accepting. Others reported they saw that walk-in individuals without appointment were returned back.

Hey all,

I am in the process of applying for OCI for my 6 month old son and we live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have completed the online application and have been provided with an Application File Number.

Should we now courier paper copies of all the uploaded documents along with the filled application form to Ottawa? Could you please also confirm who should the Demand Draft be payable to?

Also, one of the requirements asks for self attestation of the documents, could you kindly advice how to self attest the documents in case of minor? Do we also need to send any original documents?

Hi, as I have urgent reasons to travel to India, I'm thinking of applying for visa to go to India cuz OCI takes around 2 months. So my query is if I can apply for OCI from India itself as well?

Foreign nationals cannot apply for OCI in India while on Tourist Visa, Missionary Visa and Mountaineering Visa. Moreover, the foreigner has to be ordinarily resident of India to be eligible to apply for OCI registration in India.
Note: 'ordinarily resident' will mean a person staying in a particular country or in India for a continuous period of 6 months.

I had posted my application in, so wondering why they didnt post it back. Does the status mean they wont be posting it? How do I go about the pickup? Do I need appointment? No instructions on BLS website.....

If we book appointment for Indian Citizenship surrender for whole family, is it must to bring children also for the appointment? or is enough for parents to come in to submit the application? Thank you!

Did you pay for drop off ? If so then inquire if not you can choose drop off service to get your document.

Nope, the minor child does not have to be in person. The parent/guardian can submit on the child's behalf.

parents are enough. infact i have submitted on behalf of my wife and my child. Just have a letter from your wife that she is not able to come and you are authorized to submit on behalf.

i have submitted both surrender and OCI like that.

Package now shows picked up by Purolator as of this evening. I hope you were able to sort out your courier option.
