OCI process

On BLS website they have mentioned that "There would be additional appointment slots opened during the Day/ Week depending on Demand & Capacity". However, I have not seen any new slot opened since 17-Nov for Brampton office.

I have an appointment for BLS Brampton for 26-Nov (8:10 AM) under Visa category which I will cancel. I will also most likely cancel (to be confirmed next week) couple of appointments for 3-Dec under OCI category. Let me know if you need any of those appointments.

If no one has collected the appointment can you please pass it on to me? I'm in an urgent situation that my newborn should Travel to India along with her mother before the 24th of Jan. Would appreciate your help.

When we upload the documnets in the oci portal does it have to be a direct scanned copy of the document or the scanned copy of the self attested document?

For e.g. I scan my passport and upload that or I take a print of the passport and self attest it and scan that and then upload

This is what I did: I didn't self-attest the scanned copies while uploading them on the OCI portal but I did self-attest the hard-copies I submitted at the BLS centre.

OTTAWA timeline looks different from the TORONTO one. Dispatched From MEA (OCI ) date and Document Received at dates are not the same from the timeline I see on the thread for OTTAWA. We have flights booked on Dec 7th.

As of this post, I see bunch of appointments available for today/tomorrow under passport category for Toronto BLS. Few available under visa/OCI for today.

Based on earlier posts here in this thread, the appointment type doesn't matter and you can submit OCI using passport appointment type.

For those who applied oci under Ottawa jurisdiction what should be the name on the Draft?

The link on bls website says: (https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ottawa-jurisdiction/ocihome.php - Under application fees tab)

Draft or money order in favor of "High Commission of India - Ottawa"

The fees to be paid in the form of Money order or Demand draft in favor of “High Commission of India, Ottawa”

Does the comma or hyphen matter?

That I am not sure you can inquire since it mentions somewhere on their website that postal drop off can’t be picked up. Based on your 9 Nov ack the process updated should show up by end of this week. A few more days till BLS gets it so BLS may get it by 8,9 Dec then sending it by postal so I said tight better if you can pick up.
